Speaker
Bio:
My first serious study of
wine began in college with coursework on the science of
wine production.. A Texas vineyard owner trained at the
great wine school University of California, Davis,
conducted the classes.
Next
came a career with Hewlett Packard beginning as a technical consultant and
ending as a Major Account Sales Representative. During my 15 years at HP,
my wine education was furthered with many trips to the Napa, Sonoma and
Santa Cruz wine regions of California. I also realized that the knowledge
of wine and wine etiquette is very helpful in successful business
entertaining.
For
the growers of grapes, and the vintners of wine, this product is more than
just and ordinary product on a production line. It is a blend of both
science and art. Wine has sometimes been associated as a product that was
too complex and intimidating for the average consumer.
As
an independent wine consultant, I feel my goal is to give consumers enough
knowledge that they feel confident in purchasing wine that they will enjoy.
Whether it is in a restaurant, retail wine shop, or directly from a
vineyard.
